Using This Weather Trend Analyzer

For comprehensive 14-day trend analysis, I recommend:

  1. Compare Models - Look at multiple models (GFS, ECMWF, UKMET) for the same time periods to assess forecast consistency.
  2. Check Ensembles - Always prioritize ensemble forecasts over single deterministic runs beyond day 5.
  3. Track Pattern Evolution - Follow how the 500mb pattern evolves rather than focusing on specific day forecasts beyond a week.
  4. Monitor Updates - Check new model runs regularly; forecasts beyond day 7 can change significantly.
  5. Look for Signals - Pay attention to consistent signals across multiple runs rather than dramatic forecast changes.

Remember that forecast reliability decreases with time. Days 1-5 are generally reliable, days 6-10 show the correct pattern but may miss timing details, and days 11-14 should only be used for general trend analysis.
